September is Hunger Action Month. We spend the entire summer creating content, recruiting partners and preparing for events that take place throughout the month. It’s a lot of fun to create fun, creative content on tight deadlines. Check out a few of my favorite pieces.
Hunger Action Month Microsite
In 2019, I created a microsite for Hunger Action Month. This central hub contains event info, features community partners, a t-shirt order form and offers shareable resources. I update it with new photos and content each year.
In 2018 and 2019, I was the main planner for our Apron Fashion Show & Silent Auction. This event takes place at one of my favorite local cafes every September. Attendees can bid on handmade and vintage aprons and fun items from local businesses.
I secured all of the auction items, planned the fashion show and silent auction and utilized Ready. Set. Auction, an online auction software. This was my first experience planning an event from start to end, and I really enjoyed the experience!
Our social media calendar is packed in September! I post content about our events, sponsorships, partners and opportunities to donate. I also schedule paid Facebook ads to promote content throughout the month.
Various creative pieces
We create other various pieces of content for our agencies and partners. Here are a few examples:
I write press releases throughout the month to encourage the community to get involved with our mission.
I send out emails throughout the month to inform volunteers, donors and other people who support Ozarks Food Harvest’s mission.
